Sugar Cakes                                                                Mrs. Wagner (Silver Springs)

1 ½ lbs. brown sugar

2 or 3 eggs

½ pint of melted lard

1 pint sour milk

2 tsp. B.P.

2 tsp. B.soda

¼ tsp. salt

Flour to make stiff enough to drop.

Nut Cakes                                                           Mrs. Fickes   Good

1 lb. nut meats

1 lb. light brown sugar

4 even tablespoon of flour (no more)

Pinch of salt

¼ teaspoon B.P.

4 eggs beaten together (well) mix all ingredients and last put the well beaten eggs over and mix thoroughly.
