Pattie Mould (Swift’s Jewel Shortening)
1 egg 1 C. milk 1 C. bread flour ½ t. salt
For cooking use Swift’s Jewel Shortening or Jewel Salad Oil. Heat shortening or salad oil to a temperature of about 350degrees, but not hot enough to smoke. Heat mold by dipping into shortening, then dip heated mold into batter, submerging just to top. Next place mold into hot shortening. Avoid cooking too fast. To retain original crispness, place in hot oven (moulds purchased @ May Co.)

These sound like Rosettes or Swedish Iron cookies.
This is another recipe for rosettes from the Olson Family Cookbook;
