English Pudding
1 cup molasses
½ cup butter
1 cup sweet milk
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon different spices
1 cup chopped raisins
3 ½ cup flour
Steam 2 or 3 hrs.
2 steam it 3 hrs. and sometimes add a little more flour. It depends on whether the flour needs to be made stiff or soft.

Strawberry Honey
Heaping box of berries, after hulled and sliced, ½ teaspoon of powdered alum, 3 lbs. of sugar, 3 pints of cold water. Boil 3 min. hard, add berries and alum and boil hard for 5 or 8 min.
