Corn Bread Bess
1 ½ cups corn meal
1 ½ cups white flour
1 ½ cups sweet milk
½ cup lard
A little salt
2 small eggs
3 teaspoonsful baking powder
1 cup sugar

In a book from Wallingford CT dates in the 1800’s I think the date on this page is 1850?
Boiled Bread Pudding
Half pound bread crumbs
2 oz sugar – white
1 pt milk
2 oz currants
1 oz candied peel
3 eggs
Mix crumbs & sugar – pour over the milk (hot) when nearly cold add other ingredients pour in mould – boil in mould 2 hours or three hours – Serve with cream sauce.
