Angel Cake
Take the whites of 11 eggs beat to a froth add 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
1 cup flour after it has been sifted 4 times. Then add 1 teaspoon cream of tartar, sift again add 1 teaspoon of vanilla.
Bake in a new tin, do not grease. Bake40 minutes.

Cream Pie (4 pies) Mrs. Reinhold
Line the plates with pie paste. To make the crums take 3 cups of flour, 1 cup sugar, ½ cup lard, pinch of salt; mix this well with the hands,
1 cup N.O. molasses
1 cup boiling water
1 teaspoon baking soda dissolved in boiling water.
Molasses and soda together, then stir in the crums, saving a few to sprinkle on the top. Spices to taste.
N.O. Molasses = New Orleans Molasses; crums = crumbs
Pie Crust Aunt Liza
1 large granite spoon of lard
2 cups flour
Mix flour and lard
Mix with ice water
Roll lightly for one pie. Little salt.
