Fruit Mince Meat
15 apples – 2 qts
15 green tomatoes 2 qts.
1 pound raisins
4 ½ cups sugar
1 teaspoon salt
½ pound suet
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon cloves
6 tablespoons vinegar
Simmer on stove, Seal hot.

Avondale Pennsylvania 1912

Pop-overs
1 c. flour 1/3 tsp. salt
1 c. milk 2 eggs
Sift together flour and salt; add eggs well beaten, also milk. Beat hard for 2 minutes, then pour at once into hissing hot greased gem pans, and bake about 25 minutes in a hot oven (425 degrees F.)
Graham Gems
2 c. graham flour 1 egg
1/3 tsp. salt 1 c. milk
2 tsps. Baking powder 2 tbsps. Melted shortening
Blend together flour, salt and baking powder; beat egg well and add it with milk and shortening to form a batter. Bake in hot, greased gem pans in moderately hot oven (400 degrees F.) about 20 minutes.
