Eggless Cookies

2 cups sugar, 1 of butter, 1 sweet milk, 1 tea sp. soda, 1 tea sp. nutmeg, flour to roll. Bake quickly.
Mapleine Nut Bars
¾ cup flour, ½ cup chopped nuts, 1 cup sliced dates, 1 tea sp. mapleine, ½ tea sp. B.P., 1 cup brown sugar, 2 eggs.

Mapleine – Created by Crescent Foods founded in 1883, this was its best-known product introduced in 1908, and became very popular during the Great Depression as an inexpensive substitute for Maple syrup.
It is still available today from McCormick & Company in your regular grocery store.
