Gingerbread
1 egg, ¾ cup molasses, ¼ cup sugar, ½ cup butter, ½ cup boiling water, 2 teaspoons ginger, 1 teaspoon soda sifted in 2 cups flour, Beat all together for a few minutes and bake in quick oven 20 minutes.
Molasses Cookies

2 eggs, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup molasses, 2 teaspoonful vinegar, 3 teaspoonfuls hot water in which dissolve 2 teaspoonfuls soda. 1 teaspoonful each ginger and cinnamon. Mix rather stiff and bake in a moderate oven.
Molasses Cookies
½ cup sugar, ½ cup butter creamed together, 1 cup molasses, ½ cup sour milk; stir in 1 teaspoon soda, 1 teaspoon of each ginger and cassia, flour.
(cassia is cinnamon)
