This series of recipes are from two little books that have 365 recipes, one for every day of the year, from 1900 and 1903. The first is;

February
7th – Tomato Salad With Shrimp.
Cut in half six large tomatoes; scoop out the centers. Let these stand in a French dressing for half an hour. Open a can of shrimps, clean them and put them into the French dressing. Arrange a platter with lettuce leaves; stand the tomatoes on them; fill the centers with the shrimp; put a spoonful of mayonnaise on top of each and serve.
7th – Baked Custard.
One quart of milk, 5 eggs, 6 heaping tablespoonfuls of sugar, ½ of a nutmeg. Stir all well together. Put in a baking dish and bake until you can stick in the blade of a knife and it comes out dry; about ½ hour.
