Custard for Cake

1 spoon starch wet

1 cup boiling water let boil

1 cup sugar little butter –

Sugar Biscuit                                                          Mrs. J. Bach (could also be Ibach)

1 lb. sugar

1 cup butter and lard mixed

1 cup sour milk

2 eggs

1 heaping teaspoon B. soda

As little flour as can be used to stiffen.  Put 2 cakes together with raisin filling between.

Filling

1 cup ground raisins

1 cup sugar

1 tablespoon flour

1 cup hot water

Cook until it thickens.

2 cups of 4 x sugar

1 lb. flour

3 eggs
