½ cup orange juice
½ lemon
¾ cup sugar
Yolks two eggs
1 teaspoon gelatine dissolved in cold water – beat in the whites.

Peach Cake with Lemon Sauce
1 ½ cups flour
¼ teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 tablespoon sugar
4 tablespoons shortening
1 egg
½ cup milk (approximately)
12 peaches
¼ cup sugar
Mix flour, salt, baking powder, sugar together: cut in fat, as for baking powder biscuits. Add a lightly beaten egg with milk. Wash peaches, cut in half and remove pit. Press peaches close together into dough, cut side up. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake in a hot oven, 400 degrees, until peaches are tender and dough baked, about 25 to 30 minutes. Serve hot with lemon sauce or cream. Serves 6.
