Down East Pumpkin Pie       

I learned from watching a television show (Murder, She Wrote) that Down East is a local way of describing the state of Maine. 

Pumpkin                                                 1 ½ cups

Brown sugar                                          2/3 cup

  (or 3 tbsps. Molasses)

  To give dark color    or                       3 tbsps.

Cinnamon                                              1 tsp.

Ginger                                                    ½ tsp.

Salt                                                         1 tsp.

Eggs – well beaten                               2

Milk – scalded                                      1 ½ cups

Cream                                                    1 cup
