Sheffield UK 1903 – 1928

Mince Pies                              

One pound of Suet, one pound of currants, one pound of sugar, three quarters of a pound of raisins, one ounce of candied peel, one ounce of citron and a little Brandy. 

Spokane Valley Washington late 1800’s through the early 1900’s

White Cookies                

1 cup butter, 2 cups sugar, 4 eggs, Baking powder.  If for a double quantity add cup fresh cream.

Potatoe Cake       

½ lb. of sugar

½ lb. grated boiled potatoe

½ almond

10 eggs

2 lemons juice and peeling

Bake not too slow.
